Gents i need some advice please on the possible causes of a noticeable vibration i get when i start the engine from cold and put it into reverse or drive. In park or neutral there is no problem but when in drive or reverse with the foot brake on the car vibrates and the revs die a little as if it is on the edge of stalling. as the car warms up this is less noticeable and goes completely after a few minutes. In an earlier thread i had talked about transmission oil level but this and a bad sump leak have been sorted by an independent MB garage and they seemed to think it was more of a tick over issue. Gear box wise the auto shift works fine in all areas. Has anyone come across this before causes and remedies? Thanks Steve.

Forgot to add it is an S203 1.8 C200k

Need to be careful of cam chain slippage issues on the M271 engines of this vintage.
