I would rather have one that I would be happy to drive rather than have as a museum piece.
Also, on a car that is so obviously special and an investment, am I alone in thinking that servicing at a Mercedes Benz dealership would have been more appropriate?
Agree with SilverSaloon. Plenty of very nice R107s with low mileage that you could buy with 1/3 to 1/4 of that asking price that you wouldn't be afraid to use and could fully enjoy (i.e. get to drive it regularly!)
The SL Shop had a delivery miles black R107 89 SL500 last year which sold pretty quick - it was up for £55k if I remember rightly, making this one expensive.
The car had been kept by a farmer in his dining room since he bought it new (he also bought an identical one at the same time which he used daily!)

Totally agree with all the above comments. Personally I would use a car like these everyday but not if bought at the sort of price they are asking. Interestingly Charles Ironside has still not sold the ultra low mileage 124 saloon that was posted on here some months ago.
yes whilst they seem delightful there is surely a cut off point where they go from being usable to unusable
and as all the above posts tend to agree these are beyond that mark
in the cool light of day two usable examples would be better...sadly ( and cheaper !)
