I've got a service booked for my 2011 W204 C200 CDI blue efficency and I've got a shelf full of Castrol Edge 5/30w Merc spec at home so I was wondering if the dealer would use that rather than 0/40w that the handbook leans towards. 6.5 litres in my car so if they play ball I'll be saving about £100. The oil that I've got is still factory sealed so there are no doubts about its authenticity. Any experiences?

It varies--- but usually they are bit "sniffy" about it -- after all they are losing revenue.
