Viseeo - can't get it to work

Hi

I have a 2009 E-class W212, with integrated bluetooth. I recently changed phone to an HTC Wild fire, this no longer works with the cars bluetooth,Mercedes say its not on compatibilty list.

So I bought a Viseeo, however this does not connect to the car? When i plug in the green light flashes and it connects to my phone ok. When the green light stops flashing and remains on, i don't see anything in the display that tells me its connected, when i press the sync button the green light goes out and nothing happens. The bluetooth light remains on, so the phone is connected, its just not connecting to the car.

If I turn it all on and off again, do a reset, it just goes through the same process.

Your ideas appreciated.

Thanks

Jon

Did you buy the right model Viseeo? Should be an MB-2 I imagine. Is it pushed onto the connector fully? I appreciate it's got power, but perhaps all the pins aren't connected. I have an MB-2 in my 2007 SL and it works flawlessly.

Regards,

OK, so going from the top...

When you first power up the viseeo (already plugged into the car)... the lights all flash in sequence?

Once they have paired with the phone (I assume you've been through the pairing procedure?). Then the green light flashes?

Eventually you get a steady green light?

At no time at all does the car show it has a phone connected, it's preparing the phone or anything?

Is that a fair understanding?

What audio system is in the car?

Did you buy the MB-2 new?

Does it have the latest software installed?

If so and bearing in mind you had the MB kit fitted and working I would suspect a fault with the MB-2. As I said, mine works flawlessly and I didn't need to do anything special to get it to work.

The following links might give you some pointers too...

Hope that all helps.

Yes that is a good summary

I bought this off ebay, I have an Audio 20 fitted.

As I xcan't see anything I can't check the firmware level.

Thanks for your help anyway, I think I will have to send it off to get the firmware checked. I will get in contact with command online and see what they say

Thanks

How long are you leaving it? It can take some time to transfer the contacts and for the phone to come up, particularly the first time.

My minor annoyance with the MB-2 is that it seems I have to remember to press the sync button on it every time (once the green light has gone from flashing to solid). Even though none of the contacts have changed, there's still then some delay before the phone shows up on the display. That's with latest software & firmware loaded.

If the contacts haven't changed then don't sync. They should still be in the car from the last sync. At least that's how I use my MB-2. I only sync when I know the contacts have changed. It still works fine even showing a solid green light.

In fact my biggest problem, because it's hidden is that I forget it's there and only remember occasionally to sync the contacts after I have changed them.

Regards,

Unfortunately my phone isn't recognised while the solid green light is on - that's the problem. Apparently you can switch off automatic sync. on the MB-2, but then you obviously have to reverse that whenever you do want to push new contacts through.

I have left it for 45 minutes after the green light has gone solid, when i press the sync light it just goes out and nothing connects, i am just left with a blank screen and the bluetooth light on the MB-2.

very frustrating as everything was working fine before my new phone with the inbuilt blue tooth on my car, now having to play around with this stuff and its a nightmare and its 2010

Hmm ... 45 mins. should be more than enough. I agree it's a pain, we were very happy with a standard cradle (Mrs BTB and I had the same handsets, so a perfect solution) but of course you can't get them for most modern phones :(

Bill,

I don't understand your problem but freely admit I only really understand how the MB-2 works in my SL.

Starting from the fact my phone is already paired to the MB-2 whenever I turn the car on, it pairs, then it syncs the phone book from the phone to the MB-2 (flashing green light). Once this is done the phone is fully available to be used. The green light then stays solid and I can if I want sync the MB-2 to the car. If I do this then the phone is unavailable for around 10 seconds while the MB-2 syncs with the car. If I don't do this the phone remains fully available and the car address book has loaded all the contacts from the last time I did sync.

How is this different for you?

Regards,

Hi Dave

Mine is the same as you, except the phone isn't recognised while there's a green light (flashing or fixed) on the MB-2. So I have to press the button to sync it with the vehicle every time, or no access to the phone :(

This is with my Nokia X6 - I will have a play with my wife's Sony Ericsson, which so far I've just done the initial pair & sync with.

Did you set the switches on the back of the Viseeo ? They need setting differently to the default for W204, W207, W212 and is mentioned in the manual

Richard

Richard,

My MB-2 manual only talks about the system being different in W204's but not in 207's or 212's (unless that's been added in the last 3 months). That might be why the OP would have missed it if they really should be switched on the 212 as well.

Regards,

I suspect the manual was made before the W212/W207 - but both have NTG4 so I've assumed the switches need to be changed for the W212/W207 - and possibly also NTG2.5 but I don't know why you'd use one with NTG2.5 since NTG2.5 address book transfer is spot-on compared to NTG4 ..

(NTG4, NTG2.5 use the same "comfort phone" UHI plate, which actually only has power and 'turn on' connections and itself bluetooths to the head unit, which is why I expect the switches need to be changed for all cars with that comfort phone UHI plate).

You may find it has nothing to do with the Viseoo but is in fact the phone. My wife had a wildfire and it would not connect to the hands free kit in her car with her experiencing pretty much what you've described. A quick google search and it appeared to be an android issue with the phones having problems connecting via bluetooth. Sold phone on ebay and got her a Nokia and all is well again.

Thanks
Ian

I have an identical problem. ViseeO pairs well with phone but the car does not seem to recognize viseeo. Have sent an email to viseeO support. Awaiting reply.
