Hi Guys

The warning (pictured below) flashed up. When I switch the car off it disappears and doesn't reappear. It did it a few weeks ago but has been fine since.

Does anyone know the following:
What does it mean?
Is it likely that as it disappears when re-started its a glitch or is it meant to do that?
Is it expensive to fix?
Is there a cheaper way to fix it?

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Ben

That sign means there is a problem with the airmatic suspension

Really needs the fault codes reading as it could be a number of things causing it to come on.

Best and cheapest route would be to take it to a local indy and get them to look at it.

Thanks Andy

I just had a load of work done today (front torque arms, rear discs and pads) any chance that may have disturbed a wire and its a simple fix - or is that wishful thinking?

Ben

They might have done. But again might be a coincidence. But if you have had it a couple of weeks ago i would say there is a underlying fault there somewhere.

Was the place you had the work done today a merc specialist.

Yes, it was MBS. From what I have seen and heard and their work is very good, just being hopeful........

Yeah olly is a good guy from what ive heard.

I would just pop it back to him if hes not too far. Im sure he would stick it on the star for you to read the fault codes.

i will tomorrow, they are only 5 minutes away. Thing is though that if the fault has disappeared will they be able to read it?

Yeah even if the warning snt on now it should of still logged a fault code in the system.

I've had this now and again in the 2.5 years I've had mine.

Once had a sensor replaced as it was spouting interesting numbers but still get the message. Fault code is logged but whenever the sensors are tested - they work fine now.

There are no problems with my airmatic at all either - it's been checked and checked again.

I probably got it half a dozen times in the first 2 years - changed my main battery but had it once just after but not since.

I've even had it once on particularly hard cornering.

It maybe yours has a definite issue though...

Just back from MBS.

We plugged it into STAR and it said the 'time to fill the main reservoir was too long'. Thought it was either a leak or a shot compressor. STAR did a test on the compressor and it didn't reach the correct psi, it stopped about 3/4 short in the allotted time.

Verdict - worn out compressor.

£404.00 inc vat fitted, does that sound OK (all genuine parts)?

Thanks

Yes, that's about right.

I would check the pipe to the compressor first though. They tend to chafe through and cause the same symptoms.

I have asked Dave to check the pipe but in fairness when the STAR tested the pump it did sound like a knackered fridge!

I have this message from time to time, it always cancels itself and when I report to MB Tonbridge they can't find a fault. Everything seems to work fine.

I couldn't believe mine was the only one which did it...
