l need advice a on a free flowing exhaust and muffler from cat back.wether it will be a waste of money or will it be beneficial .l have had a remap and fuel economy and hp /nm have improved but the turbo lag is still there ,it has ironed out a bit only a problem around the city. Talking to a few lads they believe that getting rid of the muffler from cat back and back box muffler and replacing with new pipe from cat back with free flowing silencer will improve the lag.l cant find anyone here in aus to do a dpf delete so this may be the only option .

Hi ya, sorry about the slow reply, i have done both a dpf delete and also cat delete and straight pipe, at the moment i am running a sports cat with a straight short side exit pipe and am very pleased with the results with both turbo lag and performance been a lot better. I would suggest not running a performance muffler as this made the turbo lag worse as long as you can live with the exhaust noise.

Cheers Martin

Hi Sherco,
How did you go with the DPF removal? Am wanting to get rid of the problem on my Vito 120, and am near Canberra. Would be interested in any advice.
Cheers

Hi First of all l had the 120 mapped and did iron out the lag, l have removed the DPF and the physical unit is still there. its all good thou there still a little flat when you come to round about .That is the characteristics of a single turbo. Power wise is has improved and its pretty much dynamite. l have learnt to drive the 120 a little different in either using the tip tronic to lower a gear or giving the throttle a little pump just before l approach a round about. This seem to keep the engine spinning and not lagging. As far as hesitation from stand still , foot on the brake accelerator at 1200 rpm and release is as quick as a petrol car. Perfect when swapping lanes and the big fellow needs a push along.
