Vito 638 blower controls

Hi all. So the heater actually works well in my vito. And the blower. But when I change the direction down to my feet or anywhere. It doesn't change. Just stays in the main middle vent and onto the windscreen. When the windscreen is heavily misted up. It does struggle to clear the whole thing.

Is the direction thing cable operated?

Where are the direction flaps situated? So I can check if they are moving.

cable moves it. it goes left. take of the panel above the glovebox. there are 2 cables.

So I don't have a panel above the glove box. I have the 2 pockets instead of a glove box. I tried to remove the pockets but I think they are glued in.

Remove radio, remove then the centre cover complete. then undo the heating control ( four screws). the cables attach behind this bit.you can feel where they go behind.
