as the standard speakers are rubbish, are there any direct replacement kits for the vito or if not has anyone upgraded theirs.

Thanks in advance

It's all down to budget but if you want really nice sounds look at the Audison voce or Focal and Rainbows, all very very good.

Vito 639 speakers

My Vito 639 109 is registered as a 'van with windows' and has 3 rows of seats but I don't think it is a dualliner - or is it? The question is (yawn) is there a straightforward speaker upgrade for the rear set of speakers? I have had a look and the whole rear side panel look as if it needs to be removed in order to change the speakers, so not a home fix for me - I'd only break all the clips. Is there room for a pr of 6X9's or will a like-for-like (size wise) set of half decent speakers do the job? That would be a lot easier and cheaper. Budget is a little tight for now, so thinking in the region of £200 +/-. (this time next year Rodders .......)
I have rung several 'experts' at car audio centres and got a different answer from each.

The rear panal does need to come off to get to the speakers, easy enough, but stop there.
Leave them alone for rear fill and upgrade the fronts, when do you listen to music with your back to the stage.
Fit some components up front, 5.25 Audison or Hertz will make a huge improvement.

A Dualiner only has windows and seats in the centre. Yours sounds like a Traveliner ... that's the minibus version of the Vito.

Firstly, apologies for resurrecting this thread.

Secondly, can anyone tell me if aftermarket 13cm/5.25" speakers are a direct fit in place of MB door speakers in a Vito W639 MY2012on or would I need an adapter ring? Or can they be slim fit with no adapter?

Thirdly, I know little about not a lot and know even less about speakers. I have looked at Hertz and Focal (mentioned above), min 89-91db but after that I am clueless. Some are around £90 but other are several times that. Keeping in mind I do not want to spend a fortune, I am hoping the learned gentlefolk of this forum can make recommendations.

I guess I should say I like music loud and with bass but don't want to fit amp/subs.

You would be able to fit a powered sub under the drivers seat - I did this in my Toyota Hiace campervan.

The advantage of this is that you put a 100hz filter on your existing speakers. This gives the existing speakers system a much simpler role: they still have to do mid and upper detail, but lose the heavy work of lower range. It's win-win. Lower registers sound much better (we're not talking bass boomers here), whilst mid and high details and dynamics improve.

Search for something like "flat underseat powered subwoofer" ... I paid £200 or so for mine.

In the front doors the Vito speakers has a built in mount come speaker ring, this has plug mounts for the tweeter as well so when you remove them you need an adapter before the speaker will look at the door.
MDF rings are what you need and then the speakers work better.
Then as above you need a powered under seat sub.

I got hertz speakers in mine along with a subwoofer fitted underneath of the front seats and a hertz amp.

Sound advice here... Although better head units always mean you start with a cleaner, tauter and more powerful signal...

What head unit are you running? . When l changed my head unit l held off buying new speakers. Only because a decent pair were a bit much for me.

Saying that my new head unit has an adjustable equaliser so the stock speakers did improve a lot .

I have an Alpine in campervan ... It's ok. In R129 SL320 I have Becker Grand Prix which is very good. But I have a Pioneer DEH-80PRS in my S124 ... and it's super. May upgrade to the 99PRS one day soon.

The Hertz speakers in the doors?
Were they direct replacement or did you have to use an adapter ring?
Can you remember what model and spec they are?

you'll need adaptor rings they are 13cm hi energy and that need a amp to get the best out of them also comes with Twitters and choose to drill the doors but isn't required.

Adapters. Which ones do you think would be best?
