vito turbo/injectors running issue

Vito 108cdi
Hello there! i'm new to the forum and have not long bought myself a vito 108cdi, quite cheaply i might add knowing that a few bits and pieces may need doing to it.

After driving it for a bit, a few things have popped up, the main one being smoke. Oddly, it isn't constant and only appears when i'm maintaining speed - usually between 2200 - 2600rpm. and it smokes when idle at this engine speed as well. on full tap going through this rev range, i don't seem to notice it either. It also seems to be a bit of a flat spot when starting from this area as well.

Could this be a turbo or injector issue? blocked/split boost pipe (hoping its nothing too serious!)

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Ben

Righty, not had much time over the past few weeks to do any sort of fault finding, apart from finding out its not the map sensor. Is there anyone that can shed a bit of light on a good place to start with this?

managed to obtain a replacement turbo and am quite handy with spanners, but unsure where to start. are there any good guides for turbo replacement?

Ben

Not done a bleed test...but i don't know what one is?

Main reason i was edging towards turbo side of thing, is it seems to be rather noisy. can clearly hear it winding up and whistling down in the cab...

I spose its closest to blue...
