Need a bit of help please, i've ordered a new vito and when it arrives i want to fit some aftermarket alloys.
what size alloys look the best on the vito ? I'm looking at 18" wheels, would that be a good size, or does the Vito suit smaller/bigger wheels ?

i had 19s on mine and drove great. i never carried a lot of weight though

I will have about 500kg in the van at all times, i was thinking 19 might look too big.
do you have any pics of the 19's on your van ?

Before you change the wheels, check with your insurers. BTB500 on here has posted previously that most insurers don't want to know about a non-standard van and if you don't tell the insurers, it's your neck on the block!

I have aftermarket wheels on my T5 at present and my insurers are fine about it as long as they are van rated wheels and tyres.

Out of interest, which company is that?

As far as wheels go, the main visual issue with the 639 Vito (IMHO) is that it sits quite high. VW slightly lower the suspension on their 'Sportline' variants but MB don't. I think big rims would look odd with a large gap above them!

So ... I don't think I'd personally go bigger than 18s. Have a look at Alloy Wheels Direct though, they only stock OEM wheels (expensive) but might give you some ideas:

I have my insurance with the NFU Mutual. the last company i used also insured my T5 with the alloy wheels but did load me by about £100.
the problem i have with OEM wheels is there is nothing i like.

I'm with CIS (Co Op) and they said 'change the wheels from factory spec. and we will no longer cover the van'. I did get a quote from NFU originally (when I first got the Vito) as I already have a policy with them, but they were way more expensive than CIS.

NFU aren't cheap but they always honour their policies so that's why I insure with them.

19 or even 20 will look great but it will need lowering to look right.
18's are fine and are fitted to the sport x with 245/45/18 tyres.

I run 19's and there fine but I am about to swap them for 20" AMG's
