I’ve recently bought a gorgeous looking 1983 w123 280CE 5 speed manual.

Brought the car back home driving 300 miles and she performed very well during the trip. The ITV (Spanish MOT equivalent) was shortly due, so a preinspection was carried out. CO was all over the place so it has to be screwed down!

There onwards, I’ve had some cold start issues, mid range low power, high comsumption and difficult warm start.

My indie started the usual K-Jetronic revisión. Filter, accumulator and petrol pump were changed, distributor cap and wires and plugs also, some loose vacuum pipes reconnected, the air butterfly was properly set and cleaned up (it wasnt closing properly) and different adjusments to CO and idle screw were performed.

Now the car goes very well under charge, starts much easier and has good mpg but it jerks a little bit on low revs!

I havent changed the Warm Up Regulator yet, cause they are only available second hand and quite expensive too. On top of that, I’m not too sure if I need to change it!

What do you reckon? Is the WUR the culprit or might be something else??

Can you explain what you mean by screwed down?
CO was all over the place so it has to be screwed down!

If you have a good mechanic, he should be able to use a fuel pressure gauge to help diagnose the system. Does your car have a frequency valve (if you don't know, check if you have an 02 sensor)
