I have read posts discussing coilovers on a w123 which say it's not possible yet both BC and PB both sell coilovers for the 123. I'm confused!

Has anyone experienced a coilover install on the w123? What adaptations are required? Anyone know please?

Hopefully someone knows? Cheers, Pete.

Unless the W123 has McPherson struts, you can't install coil-overs
Who are BC and PB?

Thanks for quick response. They are retailers. PB have a kit which looks like the fronts sit in the spring plate on the control arm. I've asked them for a PDF of the instructions before ordering so as to be sure they fit.

Failing this idea, bilsteins and h&r springs I think.

Impossible, the shocks and springs are separate in a W123 with a very small shock tower. It's not going to be able to support coil overs. Renew the springs , rebuild the front end and buy Bilstien HD shocks. You'll be amazed at how nice the car will ride and handle.

Or bag it :p

Thanks for advice alabbasi. I must admit I don't see how it could work on the front either but they are offering a product. I'll await PB's response. Quite happy to go with Bilstein and H&R. I would prefer coilovers for the adjustability of them but if its not possible i'll settle for a fixed lowering of 50mm or so.

Y15HAL - looked at bagging. I am going for the low rider narcotic retailer look so its always an option!
