ive just bought an '88 w124 300e, but the passenger side windows do not work - i presume they have been disconnected - but not sure where to check, any ideas???
secondly im not too sure how to remove the door cards - any one have any pics??

when pressing the buttons have you also tried the button on the door#s themselves and can you hear any noise from the door, also check the switch below the gear lever (window child lock)

you can take door card off, trace wire from the motor and splice into it and try with a direct feed from car batt to see if motors work.

Search on here for directions on how to remove door card (it's easy)

Car of this age it's a good chance the motors have gone, on mine one of the rear motors was dead when bought.

FWIW, I had a window stop working after years of being sluggish on my W124CE.

I took the motor out, stripped it down and cleaned the armature with some wet and dry, cleaned it up, packed it with fresh grease and reassembled it again and it performed better than it had in years.

That was 3 years ago and its still going strong. Total repair time was about an hour and it wasn't rocket science.

Make sure the switch/circuit is working first before you try this.

Try a search for the door cards, there is a thread describing the procedure in detail - they are very straightforward but slightly counter intuitive - trickiest bit is putting it back on so that all the catches locate properly.
