does anyone know if there is a way to tighten up front seat belts, dont fully retract, as if a spring is loose?

Don't muck about with them is the only advice I would offer. Want me to do a search for one?

I've had front belts that wouldn't retract due to loose trim inside the B-pillar trim. But i suspect that the springs in the belt are old & tired and need replacing. Which means a new belt unless you can find someone to repair the old one

I have the same problem with my 1995 W124 and would be grateful for information on sourcing and fitting 2X replacement front belts.
