Hi all,

I have been advised to change the injectors in my 1992 300TD owing to it's mileage (240,000 miles)

I have sourced the injectors and would like to carry out the work myself, is there anything I should watch out for or any tips and tricks?

Thanks

Why change them? Find a Bosch agent and get them overhauled. It might be cheaper. You should change the spill pipes and blanking piece for the end injector as well when doing them.

How do you know that they were not changed before? If the car is running fine then leave well alone.

The car is running well but is very rattly/tappety at low revs, moreso when the engine is warm.

I have a set of replacement tappets to install when I get a chance, I thought I might as well do the injectors at the same time.

At that mileage, if your doing the hydraulic tappets then why don't replace the timing chain and tensioner if its not been done before.
