I have a w124 cabrio that i am currently changing into a 3.2L, i lowered it on bilstein b12 kit and have the wald body on it. As a result i had trouble going over many bumps and ramps, so i want to add airbags to the suspension. Generally speaking i know a fair amount about cars but i have no idea where to start with air suspension.
What i am after is only a lift of a few inchs when i need it over a bump, the actual main suspension i want to stay the b12 kit. i have found that there are two types:
1) air bag within the spring
2) air bag on top of the shock.
what i want to do is use option 2, so when i go ever a bump the compressor inflates the bags, and then deflates after i am over. i do not intend to use the air bags when i am moving.
Almost like this:

but i dont care about it being 'slammed' more just want to go over bumps without hesitation and scraping the bottom.
I know these kits are more prominent over the pond but does anybody have any experience here in the UK.
