I have put new wheels on my 95 w124 e220 coupe,8x17 225x45 on the front, 9x17 225x45 rear..the front drivers side wheel is rubbing on the cladding, but the passenger side has plenty of room not touching at all..any ideas why? Could it need caster adjustment..also the car has been lowered 40mm all round

Put a passenger in! It may then rub both sides!! I make no references to height to weight ratios of said passenger and driver of course.

When on 16s one of my 124 used to rub the cladding if it was grounded on sleeping coppers. Or on full lock.

You may have to lift if a little with it being on 17s and lowered.

Others with more in depth knowledge will be along soon to assist, properly.

Passenger side don't rub at all even with a passenger in it...my last coupe was lowered over 50mm with 17s on as well,so I have no ideas why this doing it on this coupe.will wait for more replys from all you merc boffins..thanks anyway

Possibly the castor on the left is longer than the right to stop it pulling left - as they like to do.
