W124 Convertible Air Conditioning

Hi,

I hope someone can help me !!

I have recently bought a 1995 W124 E220 convertible that was sold with air conditioning as a specified option. However, I don't seem to be able to get the air con working. I have read the user manual and it states that I should switch the heater to a setting between Blowers and feet and turn the heating control dials to the white portion and this should kick off the air con.

I have owned two other Mercedes (newer C class models) and they both had a button that needed to be pressed for Air Con.

Can anyone shed any light please ??

Hi there ,

Can you post a photo of the heater controls , so we can clarify which system you have , there is climate control , air con , and another that i can't remember the name of ....

If you can take a piccy of the controls above the radio , someone will be able to help ....

Not me though , as i haven't got any air con .... just keep the windows down on a summers day , which is what the w124 coupe is all about ....
