W124 Coupe with 606 Diesel Engine

This car is owned by an older gentleman who also has several other converted 124's. This was his latest one when I saw it earlier this year. It is fitted with a 606 engine from a W210. The pump is a w210 one as the ECU from the W210 is also fitted. The conversion itself was done in Bideford
The car was a 320CE before conversion.

That's very unusual, most of the diy conversions that come up for sale are fitted with the non turbo 606. This clearly has the turbo version, which leaves me wondering how he got the ecu to work with a manual gearbox?

Carat - You can strip the ECU right down, so it will work on its own.

my friend fitted a 320 cdi on patrol gr and he is running a manual gearbox !
I can ask him what he had to do.

I would have thought it would need a CAN input, though.

The ECU is a generic Bosch one, so what you say makes sense.

OM606 in Boat

Chap here stripped one down so he could use one/two OM606's in a boat.

Loooovely.
