I took my alloys for a refurb and the company has diamond cut the entire face of the 15 inch 8 hole alloy as per factory original.

Unfortunately each wheel has an identical ‘ring’ where it is a different colour, essentially the part of the wheel between the wheel bolt holes and the decorative 8 holes on the front face.

The company initially thought it may be heat build up, but now wonder if it’s a casting issue.

They have cut a far finer finish than the original, which doesn’t have the ring.

They are trying to find a solution and seem a professional bunch, but does anyone have any ideas as to what might cause this?

To touch there is no perceptible difference, so we are guessing it is a difference somehow in the metal.

Many thanks

I’m afraid not, they’re still at the company, it’s a concentric and constant ring from the outside of the wheel bolt holes to the inside of the 8 holes, like a shiny donut on the wheel face, which is also shiny, but noticeably different in its shine, all 4 identical

most odd!!
