'84 W201 2.0E, '91 W124 230TE estate
While my W124 E220 estate is off being repaired I thought I might pick up an W124 saloon to use for commuting and keep as a second car after the estate returns - well 3rd car really, I have a 190E also.

I've found an E200 advertised locally as follows:

94 Mercedes e200, 201k miles, 2lt petrol. automatic, all electric, sunroof, absolutely spotless car and driving perfect, tyres perfect, alloys,

Its metallic light blue and looks good in the photos but I expect it has its share of marks and scratches etc. So whats a reasonable price to expect to pay for a average example?

A 200k E200 would need to be cheap IMHO. No leather or air con etc I assume?

Personally, £500-800 would be my ball park assuming it's in good nick. I paid £320 for my '91 300TE a couple of years back with a new MOT, that had about 190k on it and was in fairly good nick considering :)

Where abouts are you? My W124 E220 estate is going to be for sale next week.

In Ireland JumboBeef, don't suppose you're over this way?

The E200 I went to see today had multiple oil leaks around the top of the engine, and several bottles of oil in the boot, so I walked away!

Flights are cheap. Then an enjoyable drive. Where in Ireland?

unless its something special like low mileage, mint or rare spec, i'd also suspect less than £1k is what you should aim for.

i sold a reasonably tidy (apart from front wings which were rust-fixed ok but repaint wasnt perfect) E300D saloon 1995 about a year ago for just over £1k.... it sold quite easily though.

All true, I've done it many times, but I also have to pay import duty. Minimum total spend is about £900, hence why a cheap local one is better value at this end of the market

Cumbria.

And I'd accept £1K :D (actually looking for about £800. Car's a good 'un, only selling it because I've just bought a caravan and a Range Rover to pull it).

Nice car JumboBeef, and exactly the same as mine thats off for repair! Have you got it advertised anywhere yet? If so point me in the right direction, if not then tell me more and I might be persuaded. Might cause a bit of confusion having 2 cars exactly the same, wonder if I could get the keys coded the same!

Would a 94 E220 7 seater estate, Auto with Aircon & the nicer walnut trim but with slight damage be of any interest to you?

It starts and drives, just needs a tailgate and tailgate glass, it was damaged when a neighbours car was hit by an uninsured driver whilst parked and was pushed into mine, New MAF, Lambda probe and comfort control module only fitted a few months before, it has been sitting in my driveway since & I'm under pressure from her indoors to get rid of it.

The best bit is I'm in Ireland :D

All depends GSBellew on how bad the damage is!! My '94 estate is due back tomorrow after €2500 of crash repairs that all looked very minor but soon mounted up. I'll PM you my email address and you can forward info to that.
