Hi All!

I've read trough many threads about M111 idle problems. This problem is up since 3 years, always had a little improvement, not shakin the chassis as much as it did before, but i still hear it misfires on idle. First thing that i've noticed before, the purge valve was stucked open. It was fully loaded with charcoal pieces of the filter. I've changed the filter, cleaned the valve and it idled lot better and the valve was ticking as it should. After that, it started to shake again. I measured all plug leads, and one was showing 8 kohms (all others were around 2 kohms). I've changed all leads, and plugs also. By the time, a little improvement again, but it still misfires on idle. Since than, i made a few "cleaning job", but no real improvements.

-Cleaned throttle body (it was not really dirty, i've seen lot dirtier ones and they worked great)
-Cleaned MAF sensor with CRC MAF Cleaner
-Measured the OVP relay's basic functions, it seems to be fine. (i've also done a high temp. measure, blowed it with a hair dryer :) ) A long time ago, i've been driving in heavy rain on the highway and the ABS light came on, and i tought my OVP has gone, but the ABS light went off after restarted the car.

My car is a 1993 W124 220SE, non cat version, so there is no O2 sensor. Other thing about the symptom, it usually produces it, when the engine is warm. When i arrive to a traffic light, and slow down to 0, the idle is good for like 2-3sec and then it starts to misfire, but not continously, just once in every 4-5 seconds. Sometimes it does a cutout when driving at normal speed, very rare 1-2 times a month.

I have read the fault codes on PIN 8, and it only blinked once, so there isn't any stored fault code. I change my fuel filter every 20.000 km at every second oil change so it could not be a problem in my opinion. I tested for vacuum leaks with lighter gas, but no results. No coolant loss, no oil leaks, and the car starts at first crank even if it had sat for a week. I've got 3 more ideas left, and then i have to give up. In my opinion the next thing i could give a try is the coil pack. But the bad thing about this, can the coil pack produce this misfire for 3 years at the same way? My other opinions would be the camshaft sensor or the MAF. What would i do next? Every part is very expensive here, and i don't want to throw out any money on the window. :)

I'd appreciate any replies, because this problem really gets on my mind. :) The car operates great, so i can use it, but for a W124 addict this is not the way it should be. :)

Best regards,
Adrian.

ps.: Sorry for the long text, but i wanted to explain the problem well, and also sorry for my bad english :)
