Shame about the after-market A/C

Why? It's a 20-year-old car. Who fitted the a/c and where is completely, totally irrelevant

As you well know, if it has factory A/C and the blower motor fails then it can be changed in a couple of hours through the engine bay. With after market A/C the dash will have to come out to get to the blower motor and then you have to hope that whatever motor you find under their can be replaced.
I am aware that some people cut holes in the heater box through the engine bay to get access but who needs the bother?

I've never had a problem with access to the fan motor on cars with aftermarket aircon. On all the cars I've worked on the motor can be out in 45 mins max

Retro fitted and after market don't ammount to the same thing to me..?

Depends on your perspective: there are virtually no differences between the two on most cars. Quite a few were installed by main dealers, quite a few were done with MB parts and the systems are very simple. At 20+ years old, from my perspective, the manufacturer is irrelevant

My only issue with the dealer fit ac is the asthetics. The buttons look cheapo, and the installation of the electric fans is never very neat due to non ac cars having a different power steering fluid cooler, radiator and horn arrangement vs a factory ac car. Trivial objections at best.

That's my car. Blooming messed about by several people and the 'buyer' from the auction has gone silent on me. It's a great car that I would keep if I had the space. It went for peanuts too; the perils of selling (or trying to sell) at Christmas.

Finally shifted it after the ebay 'winner' decided to ignore me and ruin the auction. She's off to get new wings and the minor cosmetic bit touched up.

Just a little like mine 25 years old 86.000 on the clock one owner from new. And with original key ring, paperwork, owners booklet ,and wallet. Also a box of mints in the dash from day it was sold. Full tool kit. But i could have purchased a newer car with the cost of getting this 260e how i want it. All must be 100% nothing less for me. A pair of front wings on the way .Some would run it as it is but its not the way i work.Next time it goes on the road will be to the classic car show at Trinpley in June of next year.
