w124 e320 cabrio

Interesting, that blue one has a proper Sportline Airbag and nothing else, wonder how that came about.... A snide Sportline would usually have the wing badges but nothing else...

i looked at this (as in on my final list of 5)

looks very tidy and love the full AMG kit but the colour of the seats looked wrong, some look black some look blue depending on angle & light

The last photo of the white AMG has shown me how the wind deflector should be stored in my boot.

I love it when I lean something new about my car whilst reading posts here.:thumb:

^^ How have you been storing yours?

I have heard the the recess/slots or whatever or you call them, are only present in the boots of cars specified with the wind deflector from new... How true this is, I dont know as I have never had the oportunity to inspect other examples....

I’ve been storing mine either fixed in position or just flat in the boot (little else has been in there so far).

Mine was specked with wind deflector from new so has the slots it the boot, but didn’t come with the deflector. It must have been “Mislaid” by the dealer as the previous owned said it was there when he sold it.

Had to spend more than I expected to replace it with a genuine MB deflector, but happy now I did.

Just got to see if I can fit it as neatly in my boot as it’s shown in the picture.

what does everyone think about the lower body panels being painted the same shade of white, i think it looks great but do you think it would suit the estate?

I personally like the lower body panels to match the rest of the car colour, not sure I’d go for it in white though.

Missus R just looked over my shoulder whilst I was looking at the white AMG cabrio and said; “that car looks like it should be driven by Huggy Bear”, then walked off. :dk:

I'm not sure if she was referring to the colour or the AMG styling.

Not in white. Looks good in some colours. Malachite, Almandine, Black, the darker blues. In general I prefer the 2 tone version.

i have taken my wind deflector out and store it in the house as ive got it on fleabay

aparantly it makes a very big difference when driving above 40mph, no wind at all

The photo actually shows the wind deflector stowed incorrectly. The correct way is to bring the elastic strap underneath the bottom of the wind deflector and then fasten the end plastic catch into the cutout in the boot lining above.

thanks for that,:thumb:

i tried to stow mine at the weekend as shown above, but the only way i could get it to fit into the slots snuggly was slightly skewed to the horizontal and lower towards the front:dk:. should it be level across the boot.

I will take a photo of mine stowed when I get chance.
The wind deflector fits into the boot in only one way - you can tell by the mouldings in each side of the boot lining which match up to the impressions of the side clips on the wind deflector. The wind deflector then stows in an angular fashion with the edge nearest the front of the car lower than the rear edge. The strap comes around underneath and then you push the end of the plastic clip into the cutout in the centre. It is quite tight so that there is no movement of the deflector when stowed.

Pic would be great, as i just found out, i stow mine wrong. :wallbash:

Thanks:thumb: for posting picture, mine doesn’t look anywhere near as neatly stowed as yours does, and mine doesn’t sit symmetrically flush to the boot lining. It has to go lower on the right side because of the petrol tank filler tube, and the catches where it clips to the car keep getting in the way.
