mercedes estate w124
Just purchased Lhd W124 300te24 year 1990 . There are two issues : the first the central locking does not work . Where is the vacuum pump located in the estate ? Is this a good place to start or the actuator in the drivers door ?
The second issue is the temperature gauge which when you turn on ignition reads minus 38, then when engine starts nothing appears ! Could this be the electrical gauge in the instrument cluster or the temperature gauge and where is that located ? Other wise all seems ok so far ,hopefuly it will be lovely car. Would like to find original Bosal Oris detachable tow-bar. Any help with the above would be much appreciated .Thank you .

eBay has vacuum pumps from German suppliers - got one for my 220CE a few weeks ago £35 shipped (over a 3rd of which was postage, took 4 days). Just pull off the seat squab, and check the part number stamped on the casing.

If you can find one at a UK breaker, I doubt it'll be any cheaper, as the base price will be more expensive here.

Cheers, Chris
