Hi, help please. I'm about to do the above, and Mr Haynes the oracle (I don't think!) says I need new guide pins. Why? Can anyone clear this up?
 
Brake pins

Depends on whether you have sliding caliper or fixed caliper on front which depends on what engine size and age of car you have. :confused: :confused: All have fixed caliper on rear. Fixed calipers have pad retaining pins plus clips. Not expensive so best to renew with pads. they corrode. the brakes will work better :) :) maindealer purchase so have your chassis no handy. :o
 
mr.hayes is over cautious as he recommends you get new nuts and bolts for most jobs in the manual

it is ok to re use the pin provided they are not badly coroded or damaged, just use a bit of thread lock
