W124 Front wings

I had aftermarket wings on my 200E- they fitted very well, but were far thinner than the originals- if you do fit them, shutz and waxoyl them as much as you can!

Good quality used panels do turn up from time to time. I picked up a passenger door and wing in almost mint condition a couple of months ago, had them sprayed up last weekend.

Got them from a member on here who may still have the drivers side still availale. I've archied my old messages now and can't remember who it was, i'll see if i can reload them somehow

Cant find the backups now, only directions to his place in Watford:doh:

i need 2 front wings for my green estate as they really let the car down.

i really need to address this next year as i've put it off for too long. I have a genuine rust-free diesel vented grille ready for paint, the other side will be a pattern part.

i have a pattern wing on my R107 and its fine - just underseal the inside of it, this helps it become less "tinny"

I would go for aftermarkets but coat the back of them to the nines with something like POR15 before giving to the bodyshop to spray.

In the context of a front end respray, isn't the extra cash required for genuine wings relatively small beer? I mean, the overall job is going to cost the thick end of £1,000 when you include all the prep, paint and labour. Decent after market wings are going to set you back £150 to £200; the real McCoy £350 to £400. Why spoil the job for a ha'peth o'tar?

If anyone's interested, during a recent clearout I have found a good condition original MB N/S (passenger side) front wing. Has a small dink and a little surface rust where it bolts on underneath at the bottom, but the panel is solid and would be ideal for someone who needs to replace a W124 wing.

Kept it to one side from ages back when I had my 300TE - no longer required as I sold the car last year!

Might help someone out :)

have you tried hadrian panels . they are insurance approved and i belive good as originals. When i gave to my sprayer , he was suprised these pattern one are heavy.

Hadrian went into administration in Dec11 I think they are part of Imperial Crash Repair Parts I knew someone else who reccomended them on Quality few years ago.

Hi guys.

Not sure if this is too late. I have a brand new, genine in the box w124 passenger side wing I no longer need. it's 100% brand new from mercedes in grangemouth (John R Weir). I purchased it 3 years ago and no longer need it.

Let me know if anyone is interested.
