I have the push button auto-climate control in my W124.

Over the past few days the "auto" function has been a bit hit-and-miss - sometimes it works, sometimes the fan stops blowing completly.

If that happens, the MAX and MIN buttons make it work properly.

However thismorning the whole fan appeared to be dead.

Any ideas where I should be looking? I've tried tapping the duo valves without success.

after a bit of research on the net, i checked for the external strip fuse, which was indeed in 2 pieces.

i'll order up some new fusewire to replace it - but a little check with a bit of metal joining and it didnt fix it....

If it's blown a fuse there must be a reason. Maybe the fan's kaput?

:( hope not, i've seen the how to and its cold outside!

i've ordered 5 spare fuses from fleabay.

is there a way to test the motor directly by bridging something without dismantling down to the motor itself?
