I just bought a 1997 w124 merc, done jus 42000kms.The only thing thats wrong in the car is that the cars headlight level doesnt work for the co-driver's side headlights. The right one does work satisfactory. What can be the possible cause? How do i check if the vaccuum line to the left headlight is working or not.Pls help..

Hi,
There should only be one vacuum feed for the headlights under the bonnet it is simply teed off to from one to the other, locating this tee should,nt be to much of a problem and providing the vacuum line is secure to the headlight that is defective, I would say that your pnuematic unit in the headlight itself is defective. From memory they just twist fit in the headlight, and are connected to the headlight reflector via. a small plastic ball-joint.

Have seen loads of cars where the vacuum lines just simply haven't been reconnected.
Look at the back of the lamps and make sure they both have the same vacuum pipe going to them. Aside from that, Andy's advice is good!

What they said^^ if memory serves the nylon vacuum lines are purple in colour?? with yellow plastic terminations on the lights- if any junctions are flexible black rubber they often go brittle crack and leak.

That picture is upside down.
See the 5 metal pins with 3 plastic guide pins? That's your electrical connector.
Above that, or below it in this picture due to the orientation, that's where the vacuum connects.
