w124 mechanic needed for gearbox problems

Hi there, I live in kent and have a w124 automatic which is not shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear.

I suspect it may be the vacuum from looking at the forums but I need to find someone who is able to identify and repair the problem. Can anyone local help?

Have you done the basic check of gearbox fluid level and condition?

yes I've done that. all fine there. concerend it might need a new gearbox. spoke to a benz specialist who said it might be the speed sensor in the gearbox?

does it go into, and hold third, when you change manually from second to third?

Does it go into fourth ?

Have you tried changes at great speed ?

I use Andy at Wright Tec in Sidcup. He sold me his 124. But looks after my other cars. Give him a call he is highly recommended on here.

Speed Sensor? On a W124?

It will be cheapest to find a 2nd hand gearbox...
