Evening
I have an annoying issue with my non turbo 300d, 1990, manual transmission.
Hot or cold, it sometimes ‘surges or splutters’ between say 1500 - 2000 rpm on medium throttle. Plant it it disappears, dribble along and it’s smooth.
All else seems fine, it starts easily, idles smoothly at around 600rpm and pulls well. If you accelerate strongly through the Rev range from say 900rpm to 4000rpm it is smooth all the way.
I have recently serviced it with new fuel filter etc and this made no difference.
As a side note, may be connected, cruise control only works when you hold the stick in the up position, as soon as you release the stick cruise drops out, previously cruise worked but gave the same ‘surge or hunt’.
Any advice greatly appreciated, thank you
