W124 Saloon/Coupe/Estate front body panels interchangeable?

Guys, quick question.

Are the front wings from the 124 series interchangeable? i.e. the wings from an estate > a coupe?

Anything I need to consider?

Yes front wings, bonnet and bumper are the same on all of them. Although the late multivalve diesel had a vent in the drivers side wing.

anything that you can check to confirm genuine body panel?

usually find a little mercedes star stamped on it somewhere, on the w202 wings its at the top

Is it best to replace the panels once they start to go or can they be brought back from the brink?
