w124 speaker question

Gents.. Ladies..

need some advice.

upgrading the speakers in my 124...

which cable is the positive and which is the negative for the dash mount speakers?

there is a green black stripe cable, and a black cable..

id have presumed the negative was the stripe one, but now im not so sure

My presumption is the opposite of yours!

Can't you positively (ha ha pun intended) identify the cables from markings on the speaker terminals?

im not technically minded, thus it was a new feat for me..

i presumed correctly, and i just confirmed it with a local car audio centre... so that helped! lol
