hi, strange things are happening with my ce 220 1993.

i could not shut the sunroof from the raised position about 2 weeks ago so had to revert to manual closure. the motor was fine to slide the roof up until this point but when i tried to tilt it got stuck open.

today while checking a couple of other bits i decided to check all the fuses and give them a little fiddle to check for corrosion. i noticed later that the interior light and radio were not working so i checked the fuse again by just fiddling with them and the light / radio worked again. at this point i locked the car with the key and accidently turned it the wrong way which activated the windows and also the sunroof!!! the sunroof now works fine???

i had not touched the sunroof for 2 weeks and even ordered a replacement cable from merc.

anyone else had this sort of fun?

As to the fuses, if you thinking of doing them I would recommend getting Copper ones instead, they last longer and give better contact than alloy ones.
cheers

The ceramic fuses breakdown over time although they look fine. They cost peanuts so I replace them all every 2-3 years or so. Perhaps a bit of overkill but so far so good.
