hey fellas, my 300 se is having major problems starting when it's cold, as soon as it's warm it starts fine.
if you try and rev it while starting it it just dies you have to kinda feather the throttle (it's as if there is no choke working)
any ideas?

Hi, I had a simular problem on my 300te, I was told that it could be the fus on the overload switch, (152/158 in diagram). I replaced it and it cured the problem. It is a red 'blade' type fuse, 10 amp I think.

Sorry but not too sure where it is on the 126 model, but it is near the battery side of the engine bay.

I hope that helps, if not maybe someone else will know the fault.

Cheers, Bill.

you sir are a legend....i've just checked it and that fuse is indeed blown! i'll stick a new one in and see how i get on
cheers dude!
out of interest what is the overload switch?

Thank-You.

It is the Voltage Overload Switch, something to do with the Charging side of things.

Anyway, it's a pleasure to be of some assistance. Hope it works...... ;)

Cheers.

quick question....right next to the overload fuse holder there is a rotary dial thingy with about 7 or 8 settings (2 of which are S and N) what is it/does it do?
update: yay! that fuse thingy worked!! i could kiss you!

Steady On, Steady On............lol.

To answer your question, that is for the Ignition Timing. Not too sure what the numbers stand for, but as far as I've been led to believe is that if you put regular unleaded, it should be on the the 'N' mark, and if you use 'Super' unleaded, it should be on the 'S' mark. I have mine on the 'S' mark.

I think, but not too sure, but I believe the numbers are for the degrees BTDC that the 'Spark' is sent to the spark plugs at a certain RPM, around 1800.

But really I just leave it on 'S'.

To adjust, just pull it out gently, turn to the desired position, and push it back in.

Thanks again.

Cheers, Bill.

One of my friend, has a similar problem. We have checked the fuse and its ok.

The problem is that when his ABS light comes on the engine has no power at idel and the idel just flutters, but when the ABS light goes out everything is fine and back to normal. Anyone any ideas.

All help appreciated.
