420 sec
I have some corrosion below the headlight on my 420 SEC of 1991. The new wings for the SEL ( four door saloon) are affordable but the ones for the SEC are expensive. How different are they? I am really only interested in the lower quarter of the wing - the bit that runs below the headlight and along to the wheel arch - can that bit be taken from a SEL wing???
Thanks. Steve

I suspect the SEC nose may be slightly lower , but you’d need to see two cars side by side to be certain - perhaps at a car show ?

It's different enough for it to make more sense to find a panel beater with a shrinker stretcher to make you a new repair section.

Depending on how bad, a good bodyshop maybe able to do something with original. Are you able to post some photos?

I know my original post was a long time ago but I have just got around to thinking about the front wing on my 420SEC. I had been told that the front wings on a SEC were different to those on the SE. However I have just got a replacement wing for a SE and it looks identical. Was I wrong to assume they are different - the price seemed to be three times as high as a SE one - ?? Anybody got any facts or indeed has anyone fitted a SE wing to a SEC??
Thanks
Steve

They're 100% different.
