Hi guys

Lent my car to a friend, when I got it back I noticed lack of power and struggling to exceed 2000 rpm. I took it in fir a diagnostic and it threw up p0105-001/002 /004 b28 (pressure sensor) signal voltage too low/high/low ir high.

Now a couple of questions...

First of all, is a map sensor and a turbo boost pressure sensor the same thing?

And which sensor are the codes referring to?

When I looked at the sensor at the very front of the engine bay by the intercooler (turbo boost pressure sensor)I noticed the wire going into the sensor. One of which was severed and the remaining two wires appeared to be stripped down and joined together?! Someone clearly had been messing about with it prior to my ownership. Is it supposed to be like this?

Thinking this was the cause we rejoined the severed wire and hoped for the best but obviously nothing happened!

What should I have done and what could be a possible fix?

Your help is appreciated!

Regards

Anyone?

Hi. I had the same problem on my ML this weekend (except it wouldn't rev above 3000 rpm). Had the same diagnostic code as you and it was the Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF) - swapped it for a new one and that resolved the problem right way.

The Maf is at the front on the big pipe going from the Air filter to the (turbo?)

hope that helps.

PS - if you do need a new maf, consider getting a new genuine one from mercedes, I got a new one from ECP and it lasted 4 months / 1500 miles before I had to replace it.
