Hey guys, picked up an A Class this weekend and wondered if anybody can help me.

On the lower Instrument panel (between the mph - rev counter) it tells me the KM i am doing. To me this is totally useless, but i would love to have something else there i.e Temp/mpg etc.

Is this possible?

Depends on the year of the car.

Cheers, i intend on taking i to Alfie / Richard to fit an ipod dock in the coming weeks so will inquire about this.

Any idea on rough costs? or will it be something very simple if having something else fitted?

You will have to ask them for the costs but AFAIK if you dont have phone pre-wire they have to code the cluster anyway to enable steering controls when fitting the ipod kit so can do it then.

Sounds like it wont be too much hassle then. :bannana:

NPUK: I see you have a very nice A Class... Can you recommend any other upgrades while im doing the IPOD?

The NGT2 comand was installed as an extra along with heated seats.
I also have a bluetooth viseeo on its way.

Cheers.

Audio wise I dont really think there is much else. Your fitting the ipod kit so no use having a cd changer too plus it is not cheap. I guess DAB can be added but again isnt cheap. You may want to however also add the aux input if you dont have one. Usefull if you want to connect a non apple device or phone etc. Comand Online Ltd :: Mercedes SatNav/COMAND :: COMAND Retrofit parts :: Current W169 A, W245 B, Sprinter, Vito, Viano :: Aux input for cars with Audio-20 or COMAND NTG2 version

I know from your other post you were considering upgrading to NTG2.5. Are you definately not doing this as if you do decide to do it later the ipod kit for NTG2 wont work with the NTG2.5 and neither will the Viseeo as the phone pre-wire will be made redundant when fitting NTG2.5 as it has bluetooth built in.

I already have the 6 disc changer in the glove box.
It wont play mp3 discs tho, i assume its the Comand that wont accept them?

Ive gone off the idea of the NTG2.5 just because its very expensive and i already have the NTG2. Maybe in a couple of years when i get a new motor i will have one.

The aux lead looks good, but i was wondering if there are any other useful things that can be coded?
