The site is based on the registrations with DVLA. Any car dealer will tell you that a good 30% of log books have the wrong details on them. Wrong model number is very common, but also engine capacity and even colour can be incorrect.
Back to the subject at hand. 2.6 = Auto, there is no other option.
V12 Can you let me know why you'd prefer the auto over the manual. I've currently got a 190d 2.5 manual as my daily driver and I don't mind the manual box, actually I quite like it so much i've been mulling over getting a 5 speed 190e 2.6.

There is nothing wrong the gearbox on a 2.6 manual, the problem is the daft rubber bushes in the gear linkage. Change them for brass items, and it transforms the feel of the gearbox.
The thing about the 190 is the steering wheel is slightly offset and although the seat is level with the pedals its just all a bit weird but strangely doesn't notice on the auto bit does on the manual. Every car ive ever driven I prefer a manual gearbox apart from the 190
