W201 Dashboard

W201 Dashboard - my friend's 190E has trouble with its dashboard clocks they are making noise and light is not working. The question is are LHD and RHD ones the same and how hard is it to take it out. i read that changing it on my W124 needs unplugging speedo cable all the way from the wheel and didn't seem easy.? Thanks

As far as I am aware the instrument clusters are the same. To remove it use either the right tool as found on eBay, or pieces of wire coat hanger (do a forum search for cluster removal). Pull the cluster towards you and wiggle the drivers side out first. Squeeze your hand behind the cluster and undo the knurled retainer for the speedo cable and pull out. Refitting is tricky but managable with patience.
