can anyone tell me if fitting an audio 10, or better still an audio 30 into my 1999 c class is possible, without too much trouble. at the moment i have an oldish sony.
thanks, gary

One thing that may concern you is that the Audio 10 (and maybe the Audio 30?) doesn't have a rectangular front panel. The top is slightly curved and the sides are not parallel. It also has an unusual (to me) mounting method. See pictures (hopefully!)

Go for an aftermarket headunit, I recommend Alpine :)

In terms of aftermarket units Alpine and Pioneer are top in my opinion, having used both they both deliver excellent sound allot better then stock. Some high end Pioneer units do have allot of built in features such as AUX Line input, USB input, Ipod input and even Bluetooth where as in the Alpine series they only offer Ipod in but that said they do offer separate units that can do the above however at an extra cost. What is your budget perhaps I could recomend you a good unit within the price range.

that one is out the W203 , the W202 has a standard 1 din ISO slot and not the unique fit w203 unit.

yes , you can fit both the Audio 10 and audio 30 and even the audio 30 APS into your W202. OR going older the Mercedes benz special CD. The special CD will be made by alpine , the Audio 10 and 30 units Becker.

However , the best sound will come from an aftermarket unit.

If you are using the Becker or Alpine Audio 10 / 30 units, make sure it is not a CANBUS-only unit otherwise you may not be able to turn the lights on / off in the unit nor the unit as a whole may not work with the ignition key. As far as I know W202 did not have the CANBUS to the radio, but if the steering wheel has controls for the radio, it may be okay.
