My w202 c43 amg boot lock doesn’t open with the key manually. It does open with key fob and the boot release in centre console. Any suggestions?

Does it work when unlocked and just pressing the button/barrel in the boot lid?

Or is the barrel itself seized?

Lock will be siezed, this was common when the cars were just a few years old (they never get used) so I suspect after 25+ years things will have not improved!

Can this boot lock be replaced and is it a difficult job?

It probably doesn't need anything that drastic. Try spraying some WD40 into the barrel every couple of days, then slowly try and rotate the blade a little bit at a time after a week or so.

If you manage to fix your problem buy the boot lock protective plug from dealership.
It will keep grime away.
