W202 engine connversion

Hey have a c180 pre facelift and the engines about to rattle, was looking at buying a c230k engine from a facelift model. Was just wandering how straight forward the conversion would be? Would I have to get the whole block key set up or can it just be dropped in and plugged in with the c230k ecu? Thanks in advance

Don't know about the electronic side , but I did much the same in my 190E 1.8LE , which is now a 2.3 .

Job was straightforward .

I strongly suspect from an electronics aspect you need a non facelift 230K engine and ECU. Sorry I can't be more specific.

They are so cheap now, is it worth the conversion?

Thanks guys. Hard to get one in the condition I want as I spent 6 months to get mine looking at all different engine sizes and know where there is a cheap engine.

You will also need the complete exhaust system as bigger bore and twin cat, 230ks are very fussy. Rad is different to accommodate the intercooler.

Got one in German you're welcome to printed on nice paper with good photos and a normal wiring diagram unlike the Haynes ones!
