Hi Guys

having problem with my car a the moment can you help.
today while making the daily trek to work decided to take a different route along the motorway. What a mistake that was.

pulled out to over take a lorry while travelling at approx. 50 ish, pressed the accelerator to overtake and the car first decided to respond then all of a sudden pulled back as if something was holding me back, very very frightening. This happened all through the journey to work, managed to get to work Late. Took time out to take car to garage who diagnosed problems with throttle housing, any suggestions mechanic believe part may cost around £500+ any one experience the same or similar problem

Probably not the same thing but see my post on this thread

Mine was a failed cat, same thing happened - tried to accelerate past a lorry which was trying to pull out, wouldn't go over 50, white knuckles and thank god it was a UK wagon and not a LHD one....

The Kompressor engines have an uxilary air valve in the air filter. If the motoer that drives this fails then it shuts down the compressor. Get it checked out soon because it can short out the ecu.

Graham230k had this a couple of years ago, do a search on the forum.

It sounds like they've diagnosed it as the throttle motor, other thoughts are as above plus air flow meter, supercharger clutch, which I believe will not operate if the bypass valve doesn't close ( fitted to the air cleaner box) so be sure to check valve first before condeming the supercharger.also check the speed limiter isn't activated, although this should reset after switching off.
