I have the ribbed style genuine mats in my W202 and was wondering if there is meant to be something to stop the driver side mat moving around like a gripper line or a set of clips etc

I have the same problem! Its really annoying. I dont think there is anything for the W202 to stop the mats moving around, well nothing original or from factory.

Thats how they were meant to be.

On the W210 there is a small brass hole/ring on the matt, and a brass clip/pin attached to the cars carpet. Once my Dad gets rid of it I will loot them and 'mod' the W202 matt.

Your best solution is to simply buy some Velcro strips from B&Q about a tenner for a pack. That should work perfectly.

Ive gotten used to moving it back into place as a routine when exiting the car, that and re-postioning the AeroBlade back under the wiper arm tab which does my head in also :D (anyone else have that 'problem'?)

I was going to mention the W210's and that they have a fitting to hold them down but never though of actually retro fitting them into the W202.

Killerhertz, your 'mod' mad, the modfather!

I never understood why they never bothered to fit something similar into the W202's.

Hi,
There was clips for the mats available from MB they were a clamp type peg that hooked into the carpet and gripped the floor mat I have them in both my W202's, the MB pt. no. is B6 610 1000 "if" they are still available.
If anyone is interested I,ll post a pic.
Regarding the wiper I have Aero wipers on both mine, I know what you mean regarding the clip on the arm though they both have done it, it has only been very rarely.

Thanks Andy as my luck would have it that clamp is no longer available

I have had 3 driver's mats (the velour ones) over the years and none of them has ever moved, they seem to fit perfectly without any grippers or such like.:bannana: The current velour one is the best so far, instead of the foam-type backing of the first two, it has a harder-wearing finish.

My first aero blade used to move outside the tab but the current one seems to be more firmly constructed where it hooks on and this seems to stop it twisting as much.
