W202 service indication

Hi i thought that from reading the owners manual that the time to the next service etc comes on when the ign is in position 2 for 10 secs then goes out or can be read by pushing the 0 button twice. The problem is i have never seen this displayed only the speedo current mileage i take it that this car has this feature, if so could anyone shed some light as to why mine does'nt.

Mine works by pressing the 0 twice in quick sucession. Try it with the engine on perhaps? But think mine worked with just ignition on. I don't think from memory that I see it when I turn engine on.... Luckily mine says 9700 miles!

Yours may not have the Mercedes ASSYST if it's a pre-facelift model as I think it only applies to the post face lift from late 1997 ?
