w202 starts then cuts out

Hi guys. a couple of days ago my c200 (w202) started flat spotting at random
through the rev band,then yesterday it would start and not rev above 1500 until
the temp rose to 40 then all was well apart from a slight hesitation on pull away.
during the day it got progressively worse.stalling,flat spotting and generally running rough.This morning it would start then cut out immediately.So far today I have changed fuel filter,cleaned out throttle body.checked out brake light switch,checked and cleaned plugs (very sooty), substituted fuel pump relay, any input would be great as I am running short of ideas. can't get it on a star as it won't move. got the use of a snapon reader the weekend if i need though. Apart from all that what a lovely sunny day its been.

still not running, unable to get the use of a code reader as yet,removed cps and checked resistance 1.175K slightly high as i believe it should be 1K ,don't know if that is in range, swapped fuel pump and filter to no avail, changed fuel pressure regulator no change. I don't seem to be getting strong fuel pressure from the rail as when I crack it fuel flows not jets as i would expect from it, any ideas as it somehow seems wrong driving a ford focus.

you really need a star test done

it could be a few things

ie; maf , brake switch , crank position sensor ect

is their no one near you a indie that you know that might call out after hours with a laptop with a star system to test her

agree, swapped maf with known good, removed and checked brake light, now on resistance of cam position sensor, strange thing is it will run with carb cleaner applied through throttle body, indicating spark ok or does ecu cut fuel only if it detects fault from sensors etc? no engine light on either, going to check today whether its still there!

Hi all, Still no joy. have established my injectors are not firing, anyone know what sends a signal to the ecu to fire? have got supply to injectors but no pulse signal still can't get it going to get it on diagnostics so doing it the hard way.
 
have got good fuel pressure 3.5 bar, and supply and pulse signal to injectors,good blue spark as well,does anyone know when the system goes closed loop,I am assuming when warmed up.
 
Got car towed to a merc indie near me on friday, when i got there his star had crashed,left it with him.got call on monday, "car running superbly" joy. MAF duff, poor connection on one injector. new Bosch Maf . two days driving, fuel consumption down,does not miss a beat,back in a proper car again.:)
