You need the loom and self levelling sensor from rear of car
The headlights will have the other sensor on it
Hi,
When i was retro-fitting mine I did quite a lot of research on the loom, and i could,nt find any reason why the 208 auto levelling loom could,nt be used after all it is only a 202 coupe, or even a 210 loom though it maybe a bit too long.
If I was looking to do it again the lack of available loom would,nt stop me as there is no shortage of available donor cars for the loom, and to be honest I would not trust any breaker to remove it, the breaker I sources my lights from did,nt even know there were separete ballast units. I made a trip to Birmingham and spent the day removing the loom, ECU and the suspension feedback units.
Those lights are a bit of a bargain might even make him an offer and keep them for spares. I,ll have to have a look at my bank balance.
NW Merc, what car were you planning on putting the Auto-levelling system on? If its your early pre pre facelift car what diagnostic socket does it have? The same type as your facelift?
i done the audi ballast mod, you just need the plug shell and you move the 3 or 4 wires across, wire is shorter than the mb ballast so you cant put them in the oem position.
The reason why i ask about the diagnostic socket is that the Auto-levelling system has to be intially calibrated by star, and as such there is a wire that goes to the diagnostic socket, if your car does not talk to star you won,t be able to calibrate the system.
Have you got part numbers and some instructions on what wires to move?
Oh, it should talk to star, as far as I know it has a diagnostic socket on the pre-facelift but I have no idea as regards to whether STAR could calibrate it. The facelift has Canbus so I'm assuming it should be easier with that.
