w203 alarm siren

hi everyone,

Having probs with the alarm siren and hazard lights on my c180 '03.
The hazards go off randomly when the car has been parked and recently when I go and unlock/lock the car the siren makes a whining noise then stops.

Ive read it's probabaly water thats damaged the siren and needs out.

Any ideas how to get to it (pics would be great!!) and can i get away with disconnecting it for a while before i get a new one.

Yeah your Alarm Siren needs replacing.

Here be your alarm siren (see photo)...
You need to remove the front passenger side wheel arch lining to get at it..
I removed mine and threw it as far as I could..
The car will work fine without it if you choose not to replace it..

Thanks guys much appreciated.. Any ideas on how to get the arch cover off.
Undone 2 screws and 2 rivets and now im stuck!!
