The car was running fine until cutting out.after restart the engine management light was on and in limp mode.
starts up ok seems to rev fine to 3000 but cuts out after 10 mins.

any help would be appreciated.

Found these by googling

P0087 low fuel rail pressure
P1470 EGR no flow detected
P0652 Sensor Reference Voltage "B" Circuit Low
P0192 Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Low
P0193 Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit High

thanks

hard to know where to start, ideally i would drive to a local indie and let them put it on a star but its not really driveable.

from searching it could be bad fuel, fuel filter ,rail presure sensors or hpp.

i think ill start with the cheapest component and work up.

You should try searching the threads on here, there are some very clever posters on here that really know their Mercs

Think getting it plugged into Star is your best bet though :)

You have low fuel pressure. It needs proper diagnosis as to why.

ive just changed the fuel filter,no different:confused:

so orderd a h/p pump (not cheeap)will install and fingers crossed.

its a shame your not nearer i would let you sort it out for me

update

changed the filter(bosch)no difference.
changed the pump, was ok for 1 hr then it came back.:fail

now seems worse.cutting out every minute:confused:

ive now got a genuine merc filter to install after ive drained the fuel and refilled
fingers crossed.

Stop spending money on it!!!

Get it diagnosed properly. There must be a specialist near you???

last resort

i might have to but at the moment its undrivable.

i put fuel in at a local station just before this started and the more i think now might be dodgey deisel.

im going to try and drain it and change the filter again.then bite the bullet:doh:

i get a sharp pain in my wallet when i think of garage repairs.

I don't understand why you would want forum members to email you, to find out how you sorted your problem out, as i thought this is a forum to share information ???

I spent £500 replacing parts following advise from experts.
As it turned out the fault was discoverd by accident by myself.
There are a group of wires from the MAF which route over the top of the engine ,in my case the wires had rubbed the insulation away causing a intermittent short out.Aswell as causing cutting out this short tricked the computer into giving low fuel pressure fault codes(hence the fuel system replacment)these where bogus codes. After wrapping the wires with insulating tape all has been well since.

Will have to check this. Very interesting. I know its an old post but one of my m8ts been going round in circles with similar. Could be the very problem. P1407 +engine light sporadically.

You didnt happen to ever have taken a picture of the problem wires did u? I'm gonna look at a car tonight with similar fault on same car. Only a p1407 randomly after a long run. Could point to heat on part of wiring loom. Very possible....

Did you get all these codes in one day? If so, then I think you had an accident. Am I correct?
